About Enco Engineering | Structural Solutions

Enco has been providing engineering services and solving structural challenges for a wide variety of clientele since 1985.

With a focus on structural and mechanical problem solving, Enco has contributed in the design, engineering, detailing, and commissioning of projects ranging from National Sports Stadiums to Bulk Handling projects both locally and abroad.

In 1990, Enco added an engineering team to focus on port facilities and the supply of ship loaders and related bulk material handling systems.

In 1995 with the completion of many successful projects, both domestic and international, Enco formed its fabrication facility to meet increased sales and project involvement.

This success is the result of Enco’s ongoing commitment to client satisfaction.

Enco’s experienced staff of engineers is dedicated to helping you meet the demands of an increasingly competitive world market. .

Structural Solutions | Comerica Park , Detroit Michigan

Comerica Park

In 1998, Enco was contracted to create erection plans and details for multiple structures comprising the new open air ballpark, home of the Detroit Tigers, Comerica Park. The project required surveying of construction site, design and layout of precast structures, beam/column structures and stairs towers ending with creation of construction ready details of all components

Reverb Aluminum Furnace Solutions

Fritz Enterprises

Enco Engineering was contracted to provide structural engineering, design and layout for a new Reverb Aluminum Furnace at Fritz Enterprises Rouge facility.  This new Furnace replaces an existing unit and necessitated a design that could be assembled quickly, allowing the plant to return to production.  Modifications to the original design were incorporated to improve heat retention, structural stability, operational controls and latent heat/vapor capture.  Structural framing was added to the top of the furnace to support new hoods and a more efficient  air handling and preheat system.  The furnace proper was preassembled at a local facility and shipped in large sections (up to 35,000 lbs) to the plant.  Rigging and assembly procedures were developed to allow quick, efficient field construction.

The system was put in operation and the Plant is reporting success on all counts.  Fuel consumption has been reduced and product consistency is easier to maintain.  Operational changes have increased efficiency and safety while reducing  maintenance procedures and downtime.

Structural Solutions | STORAGE SILO – Port Kaiser, Jamaica

Enco was contracted to design the material handling upgrades to increase storage capacity with primary consideration to minimizing product segregation within the storage silo. A 50,000 ton steel storage silo, feed conveyor, re- claim conveyor and controls upgrade were the major system components.

Considerations for product segregation required a state of the art distribution system; the distribution system received alumina from the Silo Feed conveyor at top of silo and through a series of air- slide conveyors the product was distrib- uted over the entire diameter of the silo.

The silo reclaim system included a fluidized floor designed to move product from designated zones within the silo. A central fluidized reclaim tunnel trans- ferred alumina to a discharge chute and the reclaim belt conveyor.

Structural Solutions | Ford Field , Detroit Michigan

Ford Field

In 1999 Enco was contracted to detail handrail, guardrail, and miscellaneous steel for Ford Field, the new home of the Detroit Lions . The project encompassed periodic site surveys and measurements as the construction progressed, and detailing of all seating, concourse guardrail, and hundreds of structural steel connections.
